Trantolo & Trantolo - Power Wash Facts
Personal injury advertising isn't typically known for restraint, originality, or subtlety. We wanted to change that, so we’re taking our message to the streets. Literally.
Trantolo & Trantolo just launched Power Wash Facts, a fully integrated campaign that transforms sidewalks, intersections, parks, and other public spaces into temporary public safety media using reverse-graffiti power washing.
The campaign combines documentary-style television spots, connected TV, online video, social media teasers, influencer content, outdoor advertising, and an in-person street activation in which crews power wash real public safety statistics directly onto pavement in locations where those facts matter most.
Rather than painting messages onto sidewalks, specialized equipment removes dirt through reusable stencils, revealing temporary safety reminders that naturally fade over time.
The campaign is built around a simple observation: the most effective place to talk about safety is often where people make safety decisions.
Crash statistics appear near busy intersections. Motorcycle facts along popular riding routes. Dog bite statistics near parks. Staircase injury facts near public stairways. Even simple reminders like "Look Both Ways Before You Cross" become contextually relevant pieces of outdoor media.
A playful social teaser featuring Keith and Scott Trantolo dropped the week before the stencils started showing up on city streets. Local influencers will encourage residents to find, photograph, and share the stencils throughout the community, extending the activation beyond the street and into social feeds.
For Agency SOS, the campaign represents an opportunity to rethink one of advertising's most formulaic categories.
"Personal injury advertising has become remarkably predictable," said John Kovacevich, Founder and Creative Director of Agency SOS. "Everyone is competing to be louder than the next attorney. We asked a different question: what if the advertising actually made the community a little safer?"
"Trantolo & Trantolo has been serving Connecticut families for more than three generations. They genuinely care about the people who live here. Once we recognized that truth, the creative idea almost revealed itself. Instead of simply talking about the firm's values, we found a way for people to experience them."
Unlike traditional cause marketing, every statistic featured in the campaign comes from publicly available regional, state, or national safety data, including the Connecticut Crash Data Repository.
The installations function simultaneously as public service announcements, outdoor advertising, and social content—blurring the lines between earned, owned, paid, and experiential media.
"This campaign only happened because the client embraced an idea that was genuinely different," Kovacevich said. "Most marketers say they want breakthrough work. Trantolo & Trantolo actually bought it. They trusted the process, embraced the production challenges, and understood that sometimes the most memorable advertising doesn't look like advertising at all."
The integrated campaign is part of Agency SOS's broader annual marketing program for Trantolo & Trantolo, which spans Connecticut, Long Island, and Western Massachusetts. As the firm's agency of record, Agency SOS oversees strategy, creative development, production, media planning, buying, optimization, SEO, social media, broadcast television, connected TV, online video, radio, streaming audio, and extensive outdoor advertising. More than 200 individual creative assets are active across the campaign throughout the year.
The documentary-style television spots follow the real power-washing crew as they install the stencils across Connecticut, capturing authentic reactions while revealing surprising safety facts along the way. Together, the television work and the live street activation invite audiences to see, share, and experience the campaign beyond the screen.
For Trantolo & Trantolo, the creative approach reflects the firm's longstanding role in the communities it serves.
"We're known for helping people after serious injuries," said Scott Trantolo, CEO of Trantolo & Trantolo. "But if we can help prevent an accident before it happens, that's even better. This campaign lets us promote safety in a way that's genuinely useful while reflecting who we've been as a firm for generations."
Featured messages throughout the campaign include:
There have been 24,468 crashes at Hartford intersections in the last ten years.
633 pedestrians have been hit in Hartford over the last five years.
There have been 12,418 motorcycle accidents in Connecticut during the past decade.
Nearly 800,000 people a year seek medical attention for dog bites.
More than 1 million people are injured in staircase accidents every year.
There are more than 1,200 trucking accidents in Connecticut each year.
There are more than 1,500 serious motor vehicle injuries in Connecticut each year.
In recent years, some care facilities have been fined for injuries, falls, even fatalities.
Look both ways before you cross.
"Not every message has to be a shocking statistic," Trantolo said. "Sometimes the best reminder is the simplest one. We all know to look both ways before crossing the street. But in a world full of distractions, it's worth hearing again. Looking out for our neighbors doesn't begin after an accident. It begins long before one happens."
